Gedragsinzichten bij het instellen van speellimieten - Interventies

Abstract

Sinds de inwerkingtreding van de Wet Kansspelen op afstand (Koa) in 2021 zijn online kansspelen gereguleerd in Nederland. Een belangrijk preventief instrument binnen deze wet is de verplichte instelling van goklimieten (voor speeltijd, storting en tegoed) door consumenten. Desondanks blijken limieten vaak hoog te worden ingesteld, wat problematisch gokgedrag niet effectief voorkomt. Deel 1 van dit onderzoek liet zien dat keuzearchitectuur op goksites consumenten beïnvloedt, vaak in de richting van hogere limieten. In dit tweede deel keken de onderzoekers naar de invloed van de vormgeving van limietenpagina's op goksites op de hoogte van de limieten die consumenten stelden. Dit rapport, het tweede deel van een breder onderzoek, richt zich op de ontwikkeling en evaluatie van interventies die consumenten stimuleren om verantwoordere goklimieten in te stellen. In dit onderzoek ontwikkelde en testten de onderzoekers drie interventies om consumenten te helpen verantwoordere limieten in te stellen. De hoogte van de ingestelde limieten diende hierin als maatstaf voor de effectiviteit van de interventies. De onderzoekers komen met drie aanbevelingen. Since the intraduction of the Remote GamblingAct (Koa) in 2021, online gambling has been regulated in the Netherlands. A key preventive measure within this law is the mandatory setting of gambling limits (tor playtime, deposits, and account balances) by consumers. However, it has been found that these limits are aften set too high, which faits to effectively prevent prablematic gambling behavior. Part 1 of this study {D&B, 2023) showed that the choice architecture on gambling sites influences consumers, aften leading them to set higher limits. This report, the second part of a braader study, focuses on the development and evaluation of interventions that encourage consumers to set more responsible gambling limits. In this study, D&B developed and tested three interventions aimed at helping consumers set more responsible limits. The amount of the set limits was used as a measure of the effectiveness of these interventions.
