    Summary
On January 26, 2000, the Dutch Commission on Fundamental Rights in a Digital Age made available its draft proposals for new ARTICLES: concerning freedom of expression (including the freedom to publish, disseminate or receive ideas and information), the right of respect for private life and privacy (including the privacy of communication), all to be incorporated in the Constitution of the Netherlands (Annexes 1 and 2). Up until now the Dutch Constitution lacked adequate constitutional guarantees to cope with the challenges of new forms and means of information exchange in the information age. This summary reports on the first comments and discussion made. It ends with a few remaining questions. Index II. Discussion on the draft proposals of the Commission on Fundamental Rights in the Digital Age Annex 1.
