Slachtoffers van zedenmisdrijven

Abstract

This is an exploratory study on the factors and considerations that play a role for adult sexual offence victims in their decisions whether or not to notify the police after the incident, whether or not to report the offence, and the choice whether or not to seek assistance. Parallel to this study the National Rapporteur on Trafficking in Human Beings and Sexual Violence against Children is conducting a monitor on the flow of cases of sexual violence against children in the judicial chain. The study focused on the following questions:What factors decide whether the victim contacts the police and/or seeks assistance?What are the needs of victims after a sexual offence and whom do they contact and when?Based on what considerations do victims decide whether or not to contact the police and/or assistance?How do they experience the process at the police station after the incident? Dit onderzoek betreft de factoren en overwegingen die een rol spelen bij volwassenslachtoffers van zedenmisdrijven om het delict wel of niet te melden bij de politie, wel of geen aangifte te doen van het delict en de keuze om wel of geen hulp te zoeken. Parallel aan dit onderzoek voert de Nationaal Rapporteur Mensenhandel en Seksueel Geweld tegen Kinderen een monitor uit naar de doorstroom van zaken van seksueel geweld tegen kinderen in de justitiële keten. De volgende vragen stonden in dit onderzoek centraal: Welke factoren bepalen of het slachtoffer contact opneemt met politie en/of hulpverleners? Welk behoeften hebben slachtoffers na een zedenmisdrijf en welke contacten hebben zij op welk moment? Welke overwegingen maken slachtoffers ten aanzien van contact zoeken met politie en/of hulpverlening? Hoe ervaren zij het proces bij de politie na het incident? INHOUD: 1. Inleiding 2.
