dc.description.abstract	Approximately 7000 applications for parole are submitted in the Netherlands every year. The new legislation means that it is possible to process applications for parole in a more rapid and effective manner, as these applications must be accompanied by specific reasons. The Research and Documentation Centre is carrying out a study into the effects of the new legislation on the processing time for applications for parole and on the nature of the decisions taken.
dc.description.abstract	Op 1 juni 2003 is de wet- en regelgeving omtrent de behandeling van gratieverzoeken gewijzigd. Na drie jaar zijn nu de resultaten van deze wijziging geëvalueerd. Nagegaan is:In hoeverre een snellere en doelmatige afdoening van gratieverzoeken wordt gerealiseerd;Of er sprake is van veranderende aard en omvang van klachten.
