Nationale Drug Monitor

Abstract

The National Drug Monitor (NDM), which has been drawn up since 1999 by the Netherlands Institute of Mental Health and Addiction [Trimbos-instituut] in collaboration with the WODC, is a descriptive report that provides an overview of substance use (drugs, alcohol and tobacco) and, since 2002, of recorded drug-related crime and the criminal law response to this. Current developments with regard to Dutch drugs policy in 2005 are described in a separate report, which was also drawn up by the Institute of Mental Health and Addiction/NDM Agency in collaboration with the WODC. De Nationale Drug Monitor (NDM) die sinds 1999 wordt samengesteld door het Trimbos-instituut in samenwerking met het WODC is een beschrijvend rapport dat een overkoepelend beeld geeft van het middelengebruik (drugs, alcohol en tabak) en – sinds 2002 – ook van de geregistreerde drugscriminaliteit en de strafrechtelijke reactie daarop. De actuele beleidsontwikkelingen in het Nederlandse drugbeleid in 2005 staan beschreven in een apparte rapportage, die eveneens door het Trimbos-instituut/Bureau NDM in samenwerking met het WODC is opgesteld. Dit rapport is naar het European Monitoring Centre for Drugs & Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) gestuurd onder de titel:The Netherlands report on the drug situation 2005.
