Abstract
At the end of 1993, a large scale reorganization of the Dutch police will be completed. Together with the reorganization a new financing system for the police is being introduced. The old system of financing input, simply meaning that a police force is supplied with a fixed sum of money, may eventually be replaced by a system of partial output financing. Output financing implies that part of the funds to be supplied to the force is dependant on the performance of that force. The author give a description of a proposed design for measuring police performances.
