Abstract
This issue of JustitIĆ«le verkenningen deals with the refugee problem in Europe. Als long as the war situation in Syria and parts of North Africa continues, refugees are bound to come to Europe thereby sometimes risking their lives. In the mean time the EU countries do not succees in reaching an agreement on how to deal with the refugee problem in general and on spreading the refugees over the various member states. This issue looks at the problem from a macro perspective by focusing on geopolitical aspects, but also from the perspective of refugees themselves, their human rights and other legal aspects. Also the integration of refugees in the Wester European societies is one of the topics receiving attention.
